Double-demerits this Easter – when, where, and rules for interstate drivers

For example, if you are from Victoria and are caught using a mobile phone while driving in New South Wales, you will receive a four-point demerit despite the office carrying five points in NSW, ten over a double demerit period. You will be fined as to the travelling state though, so instead of the $545 that you would have to pay in VIC, the fine will be $362 (or $481 in a school zone) as per NSW rules.
