As it turns out, former Volkswagen Group chairman Ferdinand Piech may not be the owner of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire after all. Rumors have instead been flying around that the new owner of the world’s most expensive production car is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. Bugatti has yet to confirm the purchase of the $18 million hypercar, but the French automaker did say that it had already found a buyer for the masterpiece Bugatti. The company has so far refused to reveal the deep-pocketed individual, but Spanish publication Marca is reporting that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and one of the greatest football players of all time made the historical purchase, adding what could be the crown jewel to his already impressive garage of high-end exotics.
