A selection of rare and special Mercedes will go under the hammer alongside the Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix.

If you have a classic or modern-classic Mercedes-Benz-sized hole in your garage, better start pulling together all your loose change as nine of the brand’s rarest and most desirable cars are set to be auctioned in Las Vegas later this month.

The RM Sotheby’s Las Vegas Grand Prix auction that is set to run on November 17 features 38 lots in total, including a Lamborghini Countach sold new to designer Ralph Lauren, but it’s the nine Mercedes-Benz going under the hammer that are of unique interest.

One of six 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadsters, a slightly less-rare but equally special 1999 CLK GTR Coupe, an AMG GT Black Series ‘Project One’, a race-modified 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II and a CLK DTM Coupe with delivery mileage are not your average Cars and Coffee crowd.

You can get some classic open-top thrills from a 1955 300SL Roadster or a 1970 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet, or flex some real muscle from the decade of decadence with a widebody AMG 560SEC.

What’s more, there’s even an ex-Hamilton 2013 Mercedes-AMG F1W04 Formula One chassis up for grabs.

While all the vehicles are uniquely special, it is rare to see them all cross the auction block in one sitting.

You’ll need deep pockets though.

According to the price guidance on the RM Sotheby’s auction website, the price range for all nine lots is somewhere between $US33- and $US43-million ($AU50 to $AU66-million). That’s an average of more than $7,000,000 per car.

The F1 chassis is the most expensive, with a guide range between $US10- and $US15-million, followed by the open-top CLK GTR at up to $US13-million. Even the most affordable option, the 280SE ‘Hangover’ Cabriolet is asking a cool half-million.
