Henry Leland founded “Cadillac Automobile Company” on 22 August 1902. It was named after French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, Sieur de Cadillac, who founded Detroit in 1701. 2022 marks Cadillac’s 120th anniversary, and, to mark the event the company launched the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition.
It will be limited to only 120 units, each numbered with a year in Cadillac’s history. The first unit – number 1902 was auctioned this weekend at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction for the impressive amount of $250,000.
