Mazda cars have a reputation for being agile and fun to drive, while at the same time, being reasonably affordable. Outside of offering decent performance and a pleasing driving experience, interior quality is good too – in terms of fit and finish as well as overall build quality. Their precision, handling, and chassis dynamic give them an edge over other Japanese and even American competitors. You could even call them the Mercedes or Audi of mainstream affordable automakers. But, that’s where Mazda’s reign comes to an end. But all of that will soon change as Mazda plans to push itself into a more premium segment. Does that mean it’ll take on the big German trio? Not directly, at least not at first, but it’s certainly gunning to put itself well above the likes of Lexus, Acura, and Genesis.
