BMW’s Leipzig plant will roll out one final special edition i3 compact hatchback before it ceases production after nearly a decade. The i3 was BMW’s first attempt toward electrified mobility for the masses, and it was fairly successful with 250,000 examples of the i3 produced since its introduction in 2013. The HomeRun Edition will be the Bavarian auto giant’s last hurrah to its first mass-produced EV.
