Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1951 Willys-Overland 2WD pickup that underwent a complete restoration with itemized receipts showing 900 hours of labor and $63,000 in total costs.
“The Willys-Overland was a full-size pickup that began production in 1947 on a 118-inch wheelbase and was redesigned in 1950 with the addition of a V-shaped grille,” AutoHunter says on the trucks listing.
During the truck’s restoration, the body was disassembled, stripped of its paint and repainted in Olive Green. The brightwork on the bumpers, egg crate grill slats, headlight rings and passenger side mirror was refinished.
The body also features a two-piece front windshield, a Jerry can on the passenger side of the truck bed and a custom stainless-steel exhaust system.
Matching the exterior, the all-green interior houses a reupholstered vinyl bench seat, new floor pans coated with rubberized flooring, a box heater and a refinished original steering wheel.
Power comes from a rebuilt 134cid F-head inline-4 that draws powers from a red-top Optima battery and is connected to a rebuilt Borg Warner T-90 3-speed manual transmission with added overdrive.
The odometer shows 51,000 miles, although true chassis mileage is unknown.
