All-electric crossover spied in Europe ahead of upcoming launch in China. It’ll likely be revealed in Shanghai on April 16.
Photographers have snapped images of the new Audi Q2 L e-tron, destined to hit the Chinese market later this year.
Audi recently confirmed the EV version of its long-wheelbase small SUV (oxymoron, we know) in Geneva last month when it revealed the e-tron Sportback prototype and hinted at its upcoming electrification plans.
At this stage, the Q2 L e-tron will be built and sold exclusively in China, though we could see the standard version electrified and sold globally in time – no official confirmation yet, though.

It’s unknown how powerful the Q2 L e-tron will be, nor how far it will be able to travel between charges, though we suspect the company will be aiming for around 400km per charge.
Beyond the all-electric drivetrain, the Q2 L e-tron will be distinguished from other long-wheelbase Q2 models in China with unique grille and front bumper treatments – which have been closed off since there’s no need for engine cooling – and ‘e-tron’ badging.
Further to the external changes, the electric Q2 should get model-specific displays and menus in the MMI infotainment system and the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster.
