An 18-year-old German teenager found out first-hand that just because you get your driver’s license, it doesn’t mean you can lord over the open road with impunity. Less than an hour after receiving his license — 49 minutes, to be exact — the teenager was flagged by a laser speed gun while traveling at almost twice the speed limit. The teenager was caught in the town of Hemer driving at speeds of 60 mph. That doesn’t sound too fast, especially in a place like Germany, but unfortunately for the young colt, the speed limit on the road he was driving on was 30 mph.
