We will soon get a look at what the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will look like, and how different it will be to the closely related Ford Ranger.

Speaking to Drive at the recent launch of the Volkswagen Amarok W580X, a representative from Volkswagen Australia said further local details – including pricing and specifications – are set to be revealed in the weeks after the unveiling.

The current-generation Volkswagen Amarok – the first of its kind and fully developed in-house by the German automotive giant – has been on sale in Australia since 2011.

The project is being led by Ford however, using a completely-overhauled version of the successful ‘T6’ platform which has underpinned the current Ford Ranger since 2011.

The first shipments of the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok are set to dock in Australia by the end of the year, with plans for the model to arrive in showrooms in the early stages of 2023.
