  • New Rogue features wider track, increased ride height
  • Rear disc brakes replace drums
  • Priced from $70,200 before on-road costs

The 2023 Toyota HiLux Rogue is due in Australian showrooms next month, with a host of mechanical upgrades – but no price rise.

The Toyota HiLux Rogue will be priced from $70,200 plus on-road costs – unchanged from the pre-update 2022 Rogue, despite the additional equipment fitted to the 2023 model.

As previously reported, the 2023 Toyota HiLux Rogue’s front and rear tracks (the distances across the axles) have been widened by 140mm to 1675mm and 1690mm respectively, while the double-cab ute’s ride height has also been increased by 20mm.

To facilitate the changes, the Toyota HiLux Rogue is fitted with extended front suspension arms, a lengthened rear axle, revised rear dampers placed further outboard and a HiLux-first rear anti-roll bar, together claimed to increase the ute’s roll rigidity by 20 per cent.

For the first time on the current-generation Toyota HiLux, rear disc brakes will replace the existing drums – bringing Australia’s best-selling vehicle in line with the Ford Ranger (most grades), Volkswagen Amarok, LDV T60, GWM Ute and SsangYong Musso.

The front brake discs are also 25mm larger than before.

Additional enhancements include 18-inch dark alloy wheels (up from 17-inch), wider wheel arch flares and mudguards.

While the Toyota HiLux Rogue is equipped with a nine-speaker premium sound system as standard, buyers can opt to downgrade to a six-speaker system for a $750 discount, which Toyota Australia says is aimed at reducing wait times.

Toyota offers a choice of nine exterior colours for the HiLux Rogue: Glacier White, Frosted White, Silver Sky, Graphite, Eclipse Black, Nebula Blue, Feverish Red, Saturn Blue and Oxide Bronze.
