More than 200 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric cars will become available to order next week – more than any previous allocation – after a model-year battery upgrade.

Another run of 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicles will be made available in Australia next Wednesday.

Hyundai Australia has announced “over” 200 Ioniq 5s will become available next Wednesday, 26 October at 1pm AEDT, for buyers in capital cities in all states and territories except the Northern Territory.

The exact size of the allocation has not been confirmed, however the October batch of cars will be the largest since the first run last September – and approaching double each of the last two allocations of cars, which comprised 119 to 135 cars.

Added for 2023 is a flagship Ioniq 5 Epiq model, which adds new-for-2023 digital side mirrors – which replace traditional mirrors with cameras, and project what they see onto displays in the car – plus a heat pump for improved efficiency, a glass Vision Roof, and a battery conditioning system.

However, the Epiq will not be available to order until another allocation of cars later this year – so the October 26 batch will be limited to the rear-wheel-drive Dynamiq and all-wheel-drive Techniq models.

Prices start from $72,000 plus on-road costs for the Dynamiq RWD – up $2100 over the 2022 model, to account for the specification changes – rising to $79,500 for the Techniq, and $85,000 for the upcoming Epiq.

In line with previous allocations, the October 26 cars are expected to be pre-built, with a range of colours and model variants to order from.

As reported, Hyundai Australia makes Ioniq 5 vehicles available to purchase in batches every one or two months, sold online – rather than let long wait lists build at dealerships.
