CarAdvice understands it will feature two electric motors, drawing voltage from an 82kWh lithium-ion battery to produce 75kW and 150kW respectively (leading to a total output of 225kW).

A battery range of approximately 450km is estimated.

According to international media reports, the ID.6 will be offered in the Chinese market by 2022 before making its way to Europe and America.

No timeline for a local launch has yet been announced, however a spokesperson for Volkswagen Australia told CarAdvice the first vehicles from the electric ‘ID’ range were slated for 2023 – it is expected the ID.4 SUV will be the first variant to arrive Down Under.
