Isuzu Ute Australia says 690 vehicles affected.
Isuzu Ute Australia has issued a recall of 690 examples of its new 2021 D-Max dual-cab ute due to a seatbelt fault.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says the rear seat seatbelt pretensioner locking tab may be defective and will not tension properly.
Isuzu says “if the pretensioner wiring harness connector incorrectly locks, this can prevent it from fully tensioning the seatbelt in the event of an accident. This could increase the risk of injury or, in the case of a serious accident, increase the risk of death to vehicle occupants.”
Affected vehicles were manufactured between 22 June 2020 and 16 August 2020. A total of 690 vehicles are affected.
Isuzu Ute Australia is contacting owners and urging them to organise inspection and repair of the defect.
