Affecting eight examples built across an eight-day period, Ford says the Focus’ sunroof frame may detach from the car.

Ford Australia has recalled eight examples of its 2021 Ford Focus, due to a chance the hatchback’s sunroof frame may not be correctly bonded to its body.
The affected examples of the Focus were built by Ford between 16 September and 24 September 2021.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing issue, the sunroof frame may not have been bonded correctly to the body and could become loose and detach from the vehicle.
“If the sunroof frame detaches from the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to other road user and bystanders.”

Ford Australia advises it will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that owners make an appointment at their preferred Ford Authorised Dealership for inspection and rectification to be carried out, free of charge.
