According to the manufacturer, a faulty crash sensor connector could delay the operation of the side airbag, curtain airbag, and belt tensioner.

Audi Australia has recalled 19 cars – across three different models – citing a potential fault with the crash sensor and airbag system.

The affected models are the Q7, SQ7, and RS6, all of which were built between July and September 2020 (Model Year 2021).

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says: “A connector may become detached from the crash sensor, which may delay the operation of the side airbag, curtain airbag and/or belt tensioner.”

“In an accident resulting in the operation of the side airbag, curtain airbag and/or belt tensioner, any delay resulting from a detached connector, increases the risk of injury and/or death to vehicle occupants,” the notice continues.
