The facelifted sedan and wagon have been teased again, this time detailing swish new light technology for the brand.

Skoda has previewed the upcoming 2020 Superb facelift once again, giving an early glimpse at the full LED lighting suite that will be available.

Headlining the new light technology will be full-LED matrix headlights, a first for the Skoda brand. The flagship units consist of an LED module for the dipped and high beam, along with three more LED high beam segments.

An additional LED strip combines the indicators, daytime-running lights, and position lights. The new lights also have a turning on and off sequence for added drama.

The new full-LED tail-lights have updates of their own, too, including Audi-like scrolling indicators that offer both a “more dynamic appearance” and are “more noticeable for other road users”.

Further details regarding the new Superb will come at the vehicle’s reveal later this month – though Skoda hasn’t set a definitive date.

Other upgrades include a brand-first plug-in hybrid option borrowed from the related Passat GTE, along with more sophisticated infotainment and driver assistance technologies.
