BMW’s hotted-up full-size SUVs have been outed ahead of launch, wearing an aggressive Competition suit.

The upcoming BMW X5 and X6 M have been leaked ahead of launch, revealing their aggressive styling and carbon-fibre detailing.

Following in the footsteps of the new X3 M and X4 M, the bigger SUV twins will be offered in regular M or more aggressive M Competition guise.

The photos, posted on Bimmerpost, reveal both super-SUVs will have pumped-up guards and gaping air intakes up front, along with what looks like carbon-fibre detailing around their edges.

Down back, there’s a more aggressive diffuser, blacked-out badging and a carbon lip spoiler, in keeping with the formula laid out by other Competition models.

The wheels on the X5 and X6 differ, suggesting buyers will be able to choose between an M5-style rim or something a bit different.

Speaking of the M5, power in the X5 M and X6 M is expected to come from a variation of that car’s 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine. It’ll be all-wheel drive, but whether the clever rear-drive mode featuring in BMW’s flagship performance sedan carries over remains to be seen.
