Mildly-refreshed four-door coupe spotted in the European snow. It’s anticipated to make its official debut later this year, with an Australian launch looking likely for 2020.

Photographers have snapped the first images of the upcoming Audi A5 facelift this week, previewing the relatively light changes in store for its coupe, convertible and four-door Sportback range.

With the swirly black-and-white wrap focused on the front and rear ends, it’s pretty obvious the majority of changes will be made at the bumpers and light units to bring the A5 family in line with the company’s latest models.

Up front there’s a more aggressive lower bumper insert and larger intake-style inserts, along with mild revisions to the headlight designs – expect matrix LED headlights to be available for the first time.

The rear end looks set to get a nip and tuck too, with a new LED tail-light signature peeping through the swirly wrap that features a 3D design that echos the look employed by the A6, A7, A8 and Q8.

It looks like the rear bumper and tailpipe finishers (one is fake on this vehicle) will get new designs too.

Beyond the cosmetic changes, it’s expected the updated A5 will get Audi’s latest infotainment software and upgraded driver assistance systems that should lend semi-autonomous driving capability.
