There are 78 converted American trucks with potentially faulty brake master cylinders, which could render the stoppers inoperable.

American Special Vehicles (ASV) has issued a recall for the 2019 model-year Ram 1500 and 2500 pickup lines over concerns of brake failure.

The local conversion firm says “on some MY19 RAM 1500 and 2500 vehicles the master cylinder pushrod clip is not secured correctly”.

“The master cylinder pushrod which is connected to the brake pedal pin may dislodge and become difficult to operate or fail, resulting in the brake pedal becoming inoperable.”

“This may pose a accident risk, potentially seriously injuring vehicle occupants or other road users,” ASV adds.

A total of 78 vehicles are affected by this recall, sold between 1 June 2018 and 31 July 2019 – the VIN list is attached here.
