Consumers want SUVs, and automakers are scrambling to deliver models that check all those would-be buyers’ boxes. For 2019, Kia updated its Sorento mid-size SUV with brawnier styling, a standard third row, a new transmission, and additional safety and convenience features. Kia says a diesel version is in the works, too.

The 2019 Sorento is available in five trim levels: L, LX, EX, SX and SX Limited. The SUV competes in a packed mid-size SUV segment that includes the Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot and Cars.com’s Best of 2018 award winner, the Volkswagen Atlas.
