The fault could cause a loss of power steering, according to the recall notice.
The affected vehicles are stamped Model Years 2019 to 2021.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect the wiring harness of the steering control unit may be damaged.
“The damage can allow water or moisture into the wiring harness, which can cause a short circuit resulting in a loss of electric power steering.
“A failure of the electric power steering would be indicated by a corresponding warning message in the instrument panel.
“If a short circuit occurs, it may result in a loss of electric power steering. This can increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.”
