Vehicles Affected: Approximately 400 model-year 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic and S65 luxury performance sedans and coupes
The Problem: The software calibration for the active lane-keeping assist function may be incorrect, and as a result, the system may not intervene in the event of an unintended lane departure while traveling faster than 65 mph, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will update the multipurpose camera software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Oct. 5. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
