More than 1800 seven-seat SUVs have been recalled over a potential issue with their rear springs.
Volkswagen Australia has recalled the 2018-19 Tiguan Allspace, over concerns regarding an issue with the rear springs.
According to the company, a certain material used in a ‘limited production period’ for the rear springs wasn’t approved. As a result, there’s a risk a rear coil spring will break and damage the rear tyres.
If the spring does break and damage the tyres, there’s a risk the driver will lose control and cause an accident.
A total of 1840 vehicles are included in the recall – a VIN list is attached here.
Volkswagen Australia will contact owners of the affected cars and advise them to get in touch with their nearest dealer to arrange a free fix.
