Today’s AutoHunter Spotlight is on an award-winning, first-generation 1946 Chrysler Town & Country convertible that underwent a professional frame-off restoration.
During the restoration, which the ad notes the seller invested close to $200,000 in, the Town & Country was repainted in marron and the ash wood framing and mahogany panels were refinished. All the exterior brightwork was also re-chromed during the restoration.
The professionally reupholstered interior is fitted with maroon leather with broadcloth inserts. A two-tone maroon and black metal dash houses a factory Mopar 802 Philco radio that’s been restored and upgraded with an FM conversion.
Powering the car is a 324cid straight-8 factory rated at 135 horsepower and paired with a fluid drive semi-automatic transmission. The ad states the engine has been rebuilt and given a new radiator and the electrical system was fully serviced.
This Town & Country’s auction ends May 14 at 11:40 a.m. PDT.
