Hi Scotty! Australian Toyota owner chiming in. I bought an '05 Camry a couple of months ago, I'd say it was about US$2100. 188890 miles – and again, just doing the conversions. Now, this Camry was driven from what I can tell in dry, arid, dusty outback regions of Australia; the transmission housing is coated in red dust. But the service history shows it was very well looked after. It recently hit a kangaroo (yes.. a common problem on our roads!), so the front left side of the hood is slightly dented, and the front left headlight assembly was replaced as well, but so far it's been a very reliable vehicle. Might also be worth noting that Toyota sourced and tested most parts in Australia as well – it's just a shame now that our whole entire car manufacturing industry is basically ended. Still, I thought I'd chime in, because I plan on keeping and maintaining the Camry for a long, long time, I don't see a need to own any other vehicle.

I bought a Tundra truck with 50,000 miles – drove it 5 years and put another 40,000 miles on it.
Toyota recalled the truck because of frame rust and paid me slightly more than I paid for it.
No American car company would do that!

Of course, a good bit of Japan's industrial success had to do with their following of the principles established by an American, William Edwards Deming.

    Toyota Production System
That's why. Look it up. Every competitor has seen the TPS up close, executives and engineers, have tried for decades to replicate it. Toyota will show anybody the playbook, knowing nobody can execute like Toyota.
5th largest company in the world.
