We had the rental van on golf trips to Myrtle Beach. We parked in the garage in the condo on the beach. In the open to the ocean side parking spot overnight, in the morning there was so much ocean spray on the windows you couldn’t hardly see through the salt. No vehicle would last long in those circumstances. It would take some serious car washing to try.

It's quite hard to get away from beaches here in ireland they are just everywhere because its such a small country I am about 10 mins away from the beach

I live on Cape Cod Massachusetts, (surrounded by ocean). The air here is 25% salt. Rust is unavoidable. If you're buying a car that's been here for 10+ years, you're lucky if it still has a frame. My 04 Suburban is hanging on by a thread.
