Always same story against diesel. In Europe millions of people run diesel cars and very happy because saving money on fuel. Diesel is a great technology requiring less maintenence ensuring more milage.

Had over 100 gals. of diesel in a Peterbilt with a fuel conditioner it the tank. This truck sat outside for 6 yrs. without running. After SIX (6) years, I sent in a fuel sample for analysis. I was told that the fuel was ok and would not harm the engine. The truck needed a new ECM, which was why it was not started for a period of SIX years. When the ECM was replaced, the engine started a never missed a beat. The fuel that was in the tanks was used…….NEVER ANY PROBLEMS!!!! This is my personal experience with diesel fuel. If the fuel analysis came back negative, I was prepared to drain it and flush the tanks. Never had an issue with the this six year old diesel fuel……..

does a truck-type "water-separator" help? Maybe not because you're talking of stopping FUEL tank contamination, right?
