Boxer self destructs after 150k. Heard horrible things about them.

  2. Roberto Garcia

Both engines are great, can’t just pick one. In line for service, flat for performance, is it?

  3. Dbf Crell

Four-cylinder engines often need head gaskets, thus, making in-line for a better choice for those who do not want to spend a lot on repairs. In-line four-cylinder engines are also some of the highest mileage engines out there. While I would admit that my 92 FWD Subaru legacy wagon had the best steering of any car I've ever owned, I am much happier with my 99 Camry four-cylinder. It's dependability is outstanding!

Sorry Scotty it’s the only one I can afford 🙁

  5. RickitySplitz

    The 4.0, 3.6, 3.7, 5.7, and 5.0 is all need.

My first 4 cylinder is turbocharged. Always had V6 and V8 cars. The 2.0 TSI is a fun engine with a manual transmission.

  7. Shawn Beck

Turbo 4! Pushing 250 HP and UP! Great engine. Shawn.

  8. LC 71

I’ve had both types of engines for lots of miles. 4 Subarus and 2 Honda’s. None of them ever gave me any trouble.

  9. Ted Neanderthal

The in-line 4 cylinder is the more modern design and gets better fuel economy than the boxer design.

So the 2013 Camry V6 is more reliable than the 4 cylinder, as others tell me. 👍
