Should My Friend Pete give it up and do COLLISION WORK?? Thats the question of today as we finish up on the last of the Restoration jobs in the shop. It’s been a long road but also a pain in the ass trying to get these two cars done and gone.

Use stock disk beak stuff! IDK about gm but on my 68 Dodge Charger I used 1976 Aspen spindles and 11" disk breaks.Go to any parts store and get your shit.Willwood and bear is just a money game. This isn't a jab on Pete he will tell you the same thing!
Pete is not a liar.
agreed, not enough rubber to protect the wheel, plus it looks ugly as hell,16 or 17 at most, I like 15in rims my self
Should you get into collision repair & frame straightening? Answer: Depends on how many more miles you have in your life's tank. Depends on your "BS meter" and if it's about pegged. Then depending on those answers, are you willing to establish the necessary guidelines to keep "a-holes' from driving you to an early grave?
Guidelines like …. (1.) THEIR car now becomes YOUR car until YOU sell it back to THEM after its finished. If they don't like it afterwards, you sell it to someone else. (2.) Because it becomes your car (and the owner agrees concerning the necessary repairs before work begins) , you make "all the decisions" before any work is performed. (3.) If it's an insurance claim & the bank carries a note on it you file a mechanic lien on the vehicle BEFORE the work starts. If they (the insurance company, bank or owner) doesn't agree to those terms, don't take the job! That way…..once you take possession of that WRECK, its up to the current owner to buy it back at the agreed price. (4.) ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE or THIRD PARTY INSPECTIONS shall be sought or paid by you regardless of opinions by others and owner agrees to hold you harmless concerning the same.
Seek an attorney on the above and add to the mix interest penalties for late payments for good measure. Closing: If once establishing you're not looking for an early grave and extra pressure to repair someone else's problem, but instead a means to earn your fair labor its up to them if they want what you offer. And in exchange for the decades of experience and craftsmanship (for their money) that's what they get, not a new vehicle and not freedom of telling you how to do your job.
Hot Rods
I'd say go with Collision Work, but take on an occasional Hot Rod/Muscle Car job after your done with all current projects. Might help balance work and income better.
No decal. Itβs perfect as is.
Pete, your doing him a solid by trying to save him money. To restore that car it's a number that will keep Jimmy awake at night. My stomach turns looking at the number of my spread sheet
17 inch wheels are big enough no need to go any bigger than that otherwise the tires will rub against the fenders .
The mustang looks great Pete , no stripes !
