If you’re ever in an accident that isn’t your fault, always demand OEM parts from the at-fault party’s insurance

Good advice. I’m a big fan of using oem parts.

When a major car manufacturer, like Frod Motors for instance consigns a 3rd party parts manufacturer (let's call them NOOG) to make a part like a tie rod end for them, it is built to a much higher standard if it is to carry Frod's OEM part number. Unfortunately, NOOG and other 3rd party parts manufacturers seem to always tout that they make OEM parts for Frod to get customers to think that's the quality level you'll get if you buy the NOOG brand. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is especially true with wheel bearings, suspension parts and sensors.

Sometimes OEM is not that much more expensive depending on the part.

I just replaced the original 18 year old Toyota/Denso starter on my 04 Lexus LS 430. Had been dreading having to do that job. But to me a starter lasting 18 years is impressive.

China is constantly trying to steal and replicate our technology but can never perfect it. Hey, alot like a Democrat stealing ideas from the Republicans 🤪
