My 4 cylinder 2006 Tacoma just turned 300,000 miles. Original engine, manual transmission, and clutch. Burns oil but who cares.

I miss my '81 SR5 Short Bed 4×4 solid front axle….the places that truck took me and thru what drove it thru… out wheeled many Jeeps back then and even pulled a few out of mud & snow while being 100% stock with a five speed 22R….if I had a $1 for every time someone said there's no way it'll make thru that or up that…..but all not lost because slowly working in a '83 with same set up as my '81…. Currently driving a '17 Tundra and love it….but still miss a manual Trans tho….

Uh? Toyota! The only American made truck I would buy is a heavy duty version, HD, 2500, 250, etc.
Have owned both.
Ford has all the tech bells and whistles to keep you occupied while waiting for a tow. All my Toyotas Tundra, Taco and Sequoia all rock solid.
My 92 Ford Ranger laated for 275 k those days are long gone
