Ha, never built one to sell, but when a customer stuck me with a trans am half way through the job, I figured well lets get my money and finish it! Screw me sideways now I did a lot of free labor for a car only worth the parts and materials in it, i wasnt building it to flip, i was building it for a customer to race… wish i parted it out….. Im stubborn, i started it, my hands finish it
Here is the deal Pete, you pick a old car you like, restore it for say $70K+++++++++ or more. Then find the very same car in the like new condition sells at Mecum or Barrett Jackson for $54K (or less )and all you got to do is drive the damn thing home. Why restore anything with the parts worth more then the value of the cars. Car restoration is a suckers game today, why ? Will one reason because Joe Biden wants all internal combustion engines off the road by 2024 ! and ran for office with that platform and now has the power of the pin to force it to happen so very soon ,NO muscle cars, Hot Rods, cars or trucks of any kind using oil based fuel will be allowed to get plates from the DMV to drive on the roads plus no business licensees will be allowed for anything dealing with hi performance in any way. ( Oh yes Biden will ! ) So it's not just a gamble , it's a flat out fools game and we car restorers & collectors are going to be wiped out, plan on it as it's on the way. The big question is how much damage can Biden do in 4 years ?
