I bought a 2001 Camaro SS Convertible a few years ago. I love it. I plan to keep it running and fix any issues that come along. I don't care about resale value though (since I have no intention of selling it). The 98-02 SS and WS6 (with the ram air in either case) are some of the best looking cars ever made, in my opinion. Plus, with most brands having switched to direct injection, and more engine critical parts being made of plastic, I have no confidence that newer cars will last nearly as long.
Only manual trany, very simple.
I’m in Texas too, wish you lived close to me, I took my CX7 in to have the real airbag installed last Friday, when they were finished they gave me the paperwork with everything that was wrong with the car, including new air filter, $49, headlight restoration $171, and things that were more serious,
including coolant leak and maybe thermostat out of whack, I had the thermostat replaced in May, They said I needed a brake flush…I had that done almost 2 years ago at KwikKar, my car just now has 50, 000 miles on it, I drive it very little, and I admit that I probably didn’t do the up keep I should have, only have taken it in for recalls. I just feel like dealerships charge way too much for their services, so I’ve avoided them as much as possible. I was glad they had run a scan on it though, because I wasn’t charged for it. I have a young man that is a mobile mechanic, he seems very knowledgeable and he doesn’t charge exorbitant prices! Oh, on one listing the dealership said I needed a two wheel alignment, then a little further down they said I needed a 4 wheel. They also wanted close tom$200 to change spark plugs. 🤗

People who don't know how to drive shouldn't own sports cars!!! That thing accelerates like it's putting out 100 hp!!! The only reason to buy that car is to fix it up NICE and put an engine in it that produces at least 400 up and a trans to go with it!!! And ALL GM SPORTS CARS GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL CAMAROS AND FIREBIRDS ARE UNIBODY, THEY HAVE NO FRAME!!! ONCE AGAIN YOU PROVE THAT EITHER YOUR VOCABULARY IS LIMITED OR YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!
Actually, though you can find it both ways in pics online, I think people highlighted them themselves, because I've had 3 of these Firebirds (I think '99, '00 and '01?), and checking my old pictures, the "Firebird" badge was always the color of the cars (red on red, white on white and black and on black), etc.
