Ah, now I know my front left drive shaft is bad. I though it was the clutch.

They will make that noise for a very long time before they will break.

Happened to me the other night! Luckily was on a low traffic road but couldn’t move my car at all. Had to get it towed, pretty sure the ball joint ripped out and the cv joint ripped out

@ Scotty Kilmer or anyone that can help I have an 03 Nissan Frontier 2.4L 4cyl When I turn the wheel all the way to the right it occasionally makes a loud pop. Any ideas?
Also there is a loud clicking sound that will come and go from the rear of the truck. Sometimes it's gone for a ouple of months, then comes back. I cant pin point where it's coming from. Any suggestions?
P.S. Wheel bearings seem to be fine. The one's in te front were replaced but did not fix the popping sound. I live in Ricmond Indiana, if anyone lives close I'd be happy to pay them if they can take a look and pin point my problem. I can fix it myself if I know what "it" is

Another reason to stop driving straight away: When you see one of your wheels ahead of the car! Don't think it can't happen. Once my Father forgot to put the wheel nuts back on after doing a brake job, and I know someone else this happened to after going to a chain "mechanic's" workshop!
