it cost you $35.00 dollars to buy 5 quarts of Quality name brand oil and Oil Filter combination at the local Automotive stores to do it yourself and you wonder how a shop can charge the same amount which would include the oil,oil filter, the oil change persons labor rate, time and oil disposal fees..How? because its cheap Quality bought in quantity but yet they can make money buy checking other stuff around that they see as they work on your car. Back in the old days, that is how you make extra money..oh well

I do on every car I service but ya most my colleges didn't care so I would be the one pulling air and cabin filters tedting your battery and guess who made the highest commission 🤪

You get what you pay for, if you you go to a good shop/mechanic and get a professional inspection of course its not gonna be $40. It is likely more expensive long term to go to the cheapest places, where workers either dont care or dont know what theyre doing, and many of those quick lubes scam customers for work not performed, or using regular oil and charging for synthetic. I check all lights, horn, wipers, coolant level, belt, battery for corrosion, test battery if it has corrosion or looks old, check air and cabin filter on cars where its quick, tire pressure, tire condition, tread depth, tire wear, front end for tie rod/bearing play, rear bearings for play, visual on suspension/struts/shocks/bushings/brakes, any fluid leaks, ujoint play. It makes sense to get a good check up every 5k or at least once or twice a year. I rarely sell air filters they can last a long time. Dirty is fine, if you can see light through it easily its not "filled" to capacity yet. It amazes me how cheap people are about taking care of their cars, not doing things like a trans service for $200 every 60k, that comes out to .33cents a mile… Maybe you dont service it and it goes out at 150-200k, then it might be over 3-5grand all at once. Or they dont replace seized alignment links/arms, or bad usually rear shocks/struts, so they get 1/3-1/2 the life they should out the tires.

That air filter is still okay. Do not top off brake fluid because it goes down when brake pads loose friction material.

brake fluid is low because your pads are worn. don't fill it up. get the fluid changed though. (research why)

Bruh I would rec every damn thing that's wrong with that vehicle if you brought it in my shop 😅👌 Every. Single. Thing. 👍

My man over here is complaining about them tryna sell stuff and then he’s mad cause they didn’t tell him what it needs AND THEN he’s finna go add brake fluid to his car. DONT ADD FLUID TO YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR. If your brake fluid is low you need brake pads. If you add more it’s just gonna over flow when you get ur brakes done

The amount of money you spend at the shop nobody cares and a lot of mechanics recommend things mad overpriced so in essence the customer don’t care because they just wanna spend that couple bucks not a mortgage
