As a welder this has to a joke! Atleast I’d hope it is! Because I repair jobs from people who buy those machines and think they can weld on their vehicles and exhaust! Also those welds are awful and should not be used to show someone how it is supposed to look! And fridges are awful to store welding rods!
I’m a welder, auto darkening is okay for maybe a hobby but will deteriorate your eyes. Even the expensive ones will stop working during a weld. And welding is an art not sort of. And dontttttt store your rods in a fridge, my god. Store it in a dry area not a cold damp machine. They literally have rod ovens to keep them warm
well, welding car panels with a cheap AC welder may make holes through the sheet metal, the best is either a classic oxyacetilene or a MIG or TIG welder, but as stick welder, if you are planning to fix car body panels then go for a IGBT welder (a stick welder inverter which welds in DC)
You can blow some holes with a stick welder, ok for building a trailer.
Haha stick to being a mechanic. You're suppose to hold your stick rod almost straight up and down.. 0° – 15°
IGBT welders are ruling the world. You really can't manipulate the arc waveform characteristics easily with transformer based welders.
