Using a Seam Ripper to open up wiring harnesses is a little mechanic hack I learned years ago. Its safer, quicker and you can get seam rippers super cheap. Or steal them from mom’s sewing kit. #shorts #humblemechanic #trending

YOOO my instructor taught my class to cut Romex sheathing with a utility knife, but this is a game changer. Should fit well in a tool belt too lol.

Fully agree , never nicks a wire and a great cutting edge , but now snap-on will produce their own version and charge you for the branding .

Yup a sewing knife is perfect so long as the wife doesn't realise you now use her sewing equipment to fix oily cars. She will thank you and ask you to buy her a new one. "Don't want oil on my blouse"

I've been using a machete this whole time!

  5. Stephen Cooper

Yeah, definitely do more of these

Just make sure to repair the high temp sheathing so the wires don't melt and need to be repaired again. Great idea though. !! I learn a lot from this mechanic.

I'm now going to owe my wife a seam ripper.
