Toyoda always right. Always best. Too bad they have to compete in a race to the bottom.
Today was -37 c where I live, not an EV to be found.
The nearest charging station for electric cars is in my state's capital and that's it. No other towns or cities have them. I've seen one Tesla in my state so far and it was shipped in on a truck due to not having the range to be driven to it's customer, a new local that works from home. That said I see Toyota's new and old everyday, followed by Honda's. Frankly even if the world goes full electric, don't personally see that in the near future, due to the nature of electric cars. It won't be that big a leap to catch up to what will be the industry standard at that time. At least as far as hardware is concerned, they may lag in terms of software. But I rather doubt the Toyota will not be up to that task considering how many software savvy companies call Japan home. They are making the practical choices, as they always have. To their continued success.
How about just planting more trees? Isn't Porsche developing engines that run on carbon?
Good point about developing countries not having the infrastructural capacity for widespread electrification, it is doubtful even for developed countries. Suitability for very cold climates and vast low population density areas are also question marks. Lithium & cobalt mining practices are very dodgy. All this EV nonsense is just to make rich westerners think they are doing something great to save the world, whereas it makes hardly any difference.
There could be lots of potential lawsuits and paperwork for policy makers, insurance companies if there were multiple car technologies of entirely different motors.
There would be huge additional infrastructure costs.
And we haven't found any remarkable new power source that is available in abundance over carbon.
If we had, we'd be using them in existing power stations, wouldn't we?
Switching to all electric would not be ideal.
For smaller countries like Thailand or Japan, it might be possible to set up infrastructure for these but not for bigger countries.
EVs are a scam and have created slave mines in the Congo for the Cobalt and Lithium to meet the battery demand. EVs arent eco friendly or sustainable.
Toyota knows !
Toyota is a company I can get behind for sure
Because we are still stuck with lithium ion batteries I approve of Toyotas looking for more options. Current batteries suck.
