I'm surprised you said the 2017 was a good year for the highlander. That was the first year of the 8 speed transmission and it was a problem. Toyota had to do "software" updates to correct. Worth mentioning in my opinion
How is the reliability of the 2016-2018 Highlander hybrid? Looking for a used vehicle to fit a family of 2 adults, two 1 year olds and 2 or 3 visitors.
My 2011 pilot has been trouble free with one exception. The front brake rotors would warp in less than 10,000 miles. I replaced them with oem honda rotors a few times, no luck, I tried a few pairs of aftermarket, same problem. A few years ago I put on a pair of “power stop” brand rotors. They were expensive but they are holding up beautifully.
I remember you saying that Honda should stick to passenger cars because it can’t build big reliable vehicles (Odyssey). Pilot is nothing else but a Pilot in different skin. As much as I prefer it’s looks to Highlander’s I’d go with Toyota.

do you think that it's okay to flush oil for oil say like use engine oil to flush engine oil and your oil for the transmission to flush your oil transmission ?
I bought a 2008 highlander last year and the oil cooler lines weren't replaced almost lost the engine but I saw the murder scene there was a few drops of oil in the dip stick…. We bought if because of the 5000lbs towing capacity. We like it but I'm going 4 runner next….
