My father owns a 2016 CX-5 and yeah, it shifts like hot garbage IMHO. However, it ALWAYS shifted like that, lol. They also had a 2017, and now a 2020. The next gen is notably better (2017+). I will admit, it has got worse over time. Still works, and if you're kind to it, it's fine. They don't drive much, or far, so it'll last til they ditch it in due course, lol. Seriously though, don't get one if you drive with a lead foot. It definitely doesn't like being pushed. If you're a conservative driver, these are pretty solid vehicles otherwise.
