I have purchased perhaps 15 cars online and traveled throughout the country to get them. I usually am looking for reliable older makes and models with really low mileage that are deals. Often the cars are not 100% what was expected, but usually they are at least 85% or 90%, so I buy them anyway. In over 25 years, I have only had two bad experiences. A recent example of a typical, positive transaction is my current commuter car. It is a reasonably loaded 2003 Saturn Ion with a manual transmission. It had a clean Carfax with 25,000 miles and was in near-perfect condition, and cost $3,900 plus the cost of a one-way plane ticket to Baltimore. The car has run flawlessly since it was purchased over a year ago and now has about 50,000 miles.

I've gone through a host of electric bikes. The motors never failed, but I went through batteries like there was no tomorrow. Limited range and extended charge times only added insult to injury. Now I ride a 50cc Yamaha vino classic. Never leaves me stranded, and it costs me next to nothing to maintain. The only way I'd have another electric bike is if they made gas illegal. And even then, I'd probably dust off my schwinn before I dove back into THAT money pit!

Another stupid trend:car logos on the grille being rubber instead of plastic or metal
