What happens when you’re battery dies and you can’t use your emergency brake ?
Interestingly enough, one of my brother's brake pads shattered on his 98 Camry, and he used the emergency brake until he got home, minimizing damage to the front rotor. Such a useless concept, should no longer be called an "emergency brake".

Being someone who actually had to use a emergency brake once to physically stop a car, I also don't like the idea of a electric brake.
Umm, it's not an "emergency break" anymore. The symbol represents a "parking break" only.
And some of these require an expensive scan tool to service the brakes. Then they have the stupid electronic shifters, only to hide a manual release to take it out of park if necessary for a tow truck or to push it out of the way.
What happens when your parked on a hill and the battery goes belly up? I can guess.

Agree 100%. Some brands of electric handbrake go wrong often. Wiper motor and rubber drive belt? Unnecessary and expensive, £400 calliper versus £11. cable.I'm a big user of the handbrake. I now have the electric type and don't like them. I suppose it's easier to pull away on a hill with these? Don't trust the manufacturers, they already know that bullsh** baffles brains!
