Scotty I would have thought that you would have procured a car lift by now, I'm like my dad, we hate crawling under the car, or Jeep to do work. When we have to do anything under the car we take it down to the military base hobby shop and use their car lift.
The new tensioner will outlive the owner of the vehicle if you leave the tire off.

My C5 Vette had the belt tensioner go bad and I replaced it with a manual tensioner. Never had to touch it for years.
