Those (performance/mileage) & the ones from the insurance companies have a reputation for screwing up cars. Especially GM. My friend had almost $ 4K in damage to his GM suv from an insurance data-logging dongle. Insurance company had to pay for the damage their device did to his vehicle. It scrambled his computer and several sensors.

Great video! Brilliant tip! If Toyota does not stock the part is probably not the problem.

What do you call the right pedal in the Rivian? Gas pedal, no. Throttle, no. Accelerator, no. I sounds like a great setup for a joke, but it is not.

Getting my 2011 Mazda 2.5 back on the road this spring after sitting two years. Putting the breaks and rear wheel bearings first. Now I do know I'm going to need a throttle sensor or cleaning at least. Uhh ; that fuel is going to need draining and replacing .

That Verizon dongle was supplied by the driver's auto insurance company. They give an option to get a small rate discount, using a cell phone connection to monitor in real time, the driver's driving habits. Such as miles driven, acceleration speed from a stoplight, deceleration speed when braking, etc.

Wow. I've never heard you talk in soft voice tone before. I knew you weren't all jacked up on mountain dew.

Is it one of those hotspot wifi plugs to give wifi in cars?

  9. John Daniels

On No! I use a Scanguage II.. I leave it plugged in my port all the time (because that's how it works) I just LOVE it because I can monitor my CVT temp, and my CVT overheats a lot (Nissan) I've had it plugged in for 80K miles, and I know its saved my CVT on several occasions by warning me that its overheating. But now I'm wondering if I should be worried. Its such a cool device and it scans for everything while I drive!

Scotty, you scared the bejeezus out of me now. I bought the $100 BlueDriver you recommended. I love this thing, and I always leave the Bluetooth dongle plugged in. I like to randomly monitor my 2003 V8 4Runner (with only 98k miles). Do you think that dongle can ruin MY main computer module like the Verizon dongle did in this video??
