This is 100% true, Lucas oil killed 2 of my cars at the same time, because it will raise the oil pressure in the engine, blowing out the gaskets and makes the car run hot, the engine can’t handle it and since it’s so thick, it’s almost impossible to take out unless you drop the oil pan and scrap it out….
How they’re still in business is beyond me….
What year range do you consider modern? Like 2013 and newer?
There are 90s/early 00s Nissan's which are so totally bulletproof in the UK. Ima give the Micra as an example. They went on forever, and so many are still commonplace on our roads. I picked one up for £200 a couple of years ago and just gave it to a friend and it's running perfect. I know Nissan partnered up with Renault which chucked reliable electrics outta the window, but have their engines gone the same way now too? I'd trust another K11 Micra any day. Lovely jellybean baby hatchback. Dunno anything about the new one's though. K11 Micras probably don't appeal to you other there in America though. 🙁
