Hey Scotty. My 06 Ford Taurus is shutting itself off after I stop at the end of my driveway to check the mail. While in drive before I even open the door. The serpentine belt is chirping. Is that hurting my altenater?

Back in the day, when Scotty was much younger, STP oil treatment was the thing thanks to Andy Granatelli and
Richard Petty. Not sure if it did anything but I used it in my 1967 Mercury Comet Capri
289 cu in and had the STP decal on the side window.
Rev up your oil treatment ( if you drive an old car.)??

the only time I use lucas is in power steering leaks if people cant afford to fix it right but its got to be the old kind with no adjustable steering valve in it for high or low speeds. and the leak must be a small leak, nothing big. and I only put in maybe 4 ounces at the most

Thats why they make the full synthetic version. Thin as oil.

I bought a cheap scan tool. Just so I can scan my car myself before taking it in.

The 1990s Dodge Vans had solid drivetrains, but the bodies as with their contemporaries from GM and a lesser extent Ford were extremely prone to rust. In Michigan where I live, they are a very rare sight. Most of these vans had severe rust before the payment book was finished. I would take a pass on these as a daily driver.
