I was coming from eldersburg Maryland and I my breakes went out I thank God for my E breakes no one was behind me.
Electric parking brakes are not the only thing on modern cars that will kill you. If you run off into a lake, electric windows can kill you. With the old manual windows, just roll them down and escape. If the power on electric windows is lost, you are stuck in the car due to water pressure. (In addition, with the old manual windows you do not have to run your car to roll your windows down-and manual windows are more reliable). The other thing that will and has killed people is this stupid push button ignition used now. Since there is no key to remove, people have left their car on in their garage and died from carbon monoxide poisoning. (In addition, this stupid push button ignition makes cars easier to steal and you must keep a good battery in your FOB to start your car- Let me have the keyed ignition any day.) (I also would like to see lawsuits to force car makers to revert to safer, simpler, more reliable systems.)
No longer emergency brake to help stop in regular brakes fail. Now only parking brakes that most people with automatic transmissions never use either.
How the hell are electric parking/emergency brakes even legal? Aren't there safety regulations?

With a manual gear box like we have in the uk, you can just leave it in gear to stop rolling.
