Several years ago I had a Lexus GS 430 with a intermittent throttle response. I discovered that the throttle pedal is attached to a mechanical potentiometer like my old stereo volume knob. Banged on it about 50 times, cleaned out the Gunga and it worked perfect for the next three years
The local Tennessee dealers when they found out Scotty was moving there…
"Oh hell. Why me??!!"

I'm Single 😍😥
Great job Scotty!
Electronic throttles are complete garbage and essentially just allow the manufacturer to hinder your driving response for fuel economy because apparently the driver shouldn't be able to request how much throttle the engine needs. GM is especially terrible at this I drove a Chevy Cruze and I would put my foot all the way down and there was literally a 2-second delay before the car did anything and almost got me in accidents when trying to do a tight merge with incoming cars at high speed.
In 50+ years, how many throttle linkages have you seen break? Lol
I feel sorry for the military man, Ford is just as bad a chrysler
how is this a common problem? what year is that thing and how many miles? throttle valve isnt cheap i bet. ford you lose respect for making this critical component cheap.
5 years old and having problems like that what an expensive paper weight. I bought a car that was literally wrecked and its coming up on 7 years i've had it with no real problems
