That $11,000 I got back from the government plus the free charging I get at work helps offset the cost of higher insurance and registration fees.

EVs are currently horrific when it comes to the resources required to mine, manufacture and dispose of the heavy metals in the batteries. I worry for our oceans once many tons of lithium inevitably gets thrown into them.

Hydrogen is the only way to go!
Quick recharging and great distance with weight loss when energy is used.
Hydrogen refilling stations can be added into current gas staton without major changes.
Fueling Hydrogen tanks with transportation via liquid hydrogen transporters is feasible and safe.
Hydrogen is the lightest element in the universe and will disperse into the athmosphere very quickly.
By product from hydrogen powercells are electricity, heat and water, so it is very clean. (Toyota Mirai is the example)
HYDROGEN IS THE FUTURE FOR AUTOMOTIVE AND AVIATION VEHICLE!

As the prices increase for power, and they will, the EV boondoggle becomes more clear. Its not the solution. And when these vehicles connect to an already over stressed grid, the whole system will come to a screeching halt. Meanwhile those of us that refuse to participate in this silliness will drive out ICE cars and trucks right around the dead EV's.

Are wireless charging stations in the future?

Electricity still has to come from somewhere. We own a home in town with no garage, so there is no safe place to install a charger. Street parking or gravel area through alley where vandalism happens. Not realistic ever.

Generally the opposite of everything Scotty says is or will be true. Who is paying Scotty to FUD? Tax returns would be very interesting to see and reveal the HUGE conflicts of interest.

EVs are fools gold. First, our electrical grid can't support the demand now. California was having planned rolling blackouts YEARS ago BEFORE EVs were on the market. Now, California is asking EV owners to charge their vehicles only on selected days each week. As more EVs come online,, how is the electrical grid going to keep up?? Next, batteries are EXPENSIVE to replace. If you get in a car wreck, the battery is damaged, your car will be totaled by insurance companies. Insurance companies are going to charge much higher premiums to compensate. You lose resale value. Who is going to buy a used EV towards the end of it's battery life?? Stupid people yes, but those people usually don't have the money. In a car wreck, you are significantly more likely to die in an EV than a gas vehicle. Not my opinion, facts from firefighters trying to put out a fire on an EV vehicle. It takes about 6 hours and 30,000 gallons of water. That scenario is not very green or safe. I could go on, but I encourage everyone to look into my statements and dig deep on finding the reality of EVs as opposed to the fantasies of our government.

Scotty you really need to update the terminology. My 2010 Prius is an Electric Vehicle, unlimited Range, able to recharge itself on the go, and extremely efficient. A BATTERYMOBILE is just a battery that, until it dies because it cannot recharge itself, allows the owner to drive it tempoarily. A mindless mistake of vehicle design that no one with a brain would ever choose.

The electric car is not finished !
